Disability Advocacy Day – March 21

In Blog, Events_Archive, Featured, News by Beth Wroblewski

Disability Advocacy Day is on March 21 in Madison. The deadline for registering is this Friday, March 10! The issues for people with disabilities are NOW URGENT!

Medicaid Funding

On Monday, March 6, Congress introduced a bill that will dramatically reduce Medicaid funding coming to Wisconsin. That could have a critical impact on Medicaid programs like BadgerCare, mental health services, Family Care, IRIS, children’s long-term supports, Katie Beckett Medicaid, school therapies, and more.

Proposed Health Care Changes

There is also a proposal to replace heath care premium subsidies with tax credits – this isn’t equal because tax credits only work if you have enough income to cover this approach. Your state legislators can influence action in Washington. They need to know if you have concerns about changes to Medicaid funding or Affordable Care Act/Obama Care changes.

Come to Madison and ask your questions about this and other issues in the state budget.

Your Participation is Important

You MUST register to participate in this FREE day of advocacy and to have legislative visits. The voice of the disability community is extremely important for policymakers to hear.
