Janet Estervig, the new Employment Initiatives Manager at the Department of Health Services, wants to help get the word out about ways to improve visibility, collaboration, and outcomes in employment for people with disabilities.

Be a part of the conversation about the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and coordinated state initiatives and programs to promote employment for people with disabilities across Wisconsin. Meet or get reacquainted with Janet Estervig, the newest internal supporter of employment for individuals with disabilities at DHS. Janet will share her four cornerstones of achieving employment success and spark ideas and inspiration about ways to get out the word that people with disabilities can and are working!

Janet Estervig

Employment Initiatives Manager, Office of Family Care Expansion, Wisconsin Department of Health Services

Janet recently joined the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as the Section Chief for Employment Initiatives for Wisconsin. She has a degree in Special Education (taught 5 years), a MS as a Vocational Counselor (provider of supported employment services for 25 years) and is a Registered Nurse (worked in Urgent Care and currently Private Duty Nurse on weekends). She has extensive knowledge of job development, job coaching, transition planning and assessment. As an RN, Janet brings a unique perspective of the possibilities of employment in the healthcare field. In addition, she was the Director of a Personal Care Department for 5 years.
