Community Benefits Specialist (CBS) Program
The Community Benefits Specialist (CBS) Program is an outreach service designed to assist individuals with mental illness in Dane County in applying for public benefits:
- Social Security,
- Medicaid,
- FoodShare, etc.
The CBS Program offers a flexible, highly individualized service, designed to meet the special needs of persons with mental illnesses who need to negotiate the human service system.
A Community Benefits Specialist will actively engage the individuals needing assistance, gather and organize the needed application information, and provide any necessary follow-up support and advocacy.
