About the Speaker:
John Benbow is employed by ERI as a Benefits Researcher and Curriculum Specialist. John worked for 27 years for the Social Security Administration as a field office Claims Representative, Operations Analyst, Operations Supervisor, and Management Support Specialist, serving in several different positions in offices throughout Wisconsin. His knowledge of the SSI/SSDI programs, work incentives, and SSA processes has been invaluable in ERI’s success with service implementation and training initiatives.
John has taught at the secondary and college level. He has worked for ERI for six years providing WDBN training, writing technical information for the WDBN newsletter, maintaining the WDBN curriculum, researching program and policy issues, working directly with benefits counseling projects, and lending technical support to benefits specialists across Wisconsin. Before serving in the US Army, John received a MA in English from UW-Madison and did graduate work in public administration at UW-Oshkosh.
