Medicare Part D Training: 2009 Update
Medicare Part D is a federal program to subsidize the costs of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries in the United States. It was enacted as part of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA) and went into effect on January 1, 2006. Attend this training to get an update about what to expect in 2009.

- Disability Benefit Specialists (DBS), newly hired by an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)
- Contractors providing benefits related services to people with disabilities as part of a contract with the WI Dept. of Health Services
- Disability Program Navigators
- Providers or potential providers of benefit analysis services to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
About the Presenter:
Eva Shiffrin is an attorney practicing at Disability Rights Wisconsin. She works intensively with Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security Disability. She currently oversees the Medicare Part D helpline for people with disabilities and works closely with disability benefit specialists at the Aging and Disability Resource Centers across the state. She previously worked at the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups as a supervising attorney, where she worked primarily with benefit specialists for the elderly in the Fox Valley area of the state.
