The WDBN provides training, technical assistance and a professional forum for Benefit specialists throughout Wisconsin. Comprehensive Training
The WDBN provides the most current curriculum, information and resources to train and maintain the skills of Benefit Specialists throughout the state:
- Initial in-depth training program to become a Benefit Specialist
- A calendar of events for education and networking
- Ongoing technical assistance
- Regular news and updates
The WDBN collaborates with the Social Security Administration, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development - Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services to provide the most comprehensive resources to Wisconsin Benefit Specialists.
Outreach

Direct Services to Beneficiaries
Benefit Specialists trained by the WDBN work statewide with beneficiaries of Social Security benefi ts (SSI/SSDI) to provide them with comprehensive and accurate information regarding their benefi ts. This allows a person to make informed choices about employment goals and work incentives. Benefit Specialists analyze and provide information on how the following benefits can be affected when a person considers employment:

- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
- Medicaid & Medicare
- Food Share
- Subsidized Housing
- Private Health Insurance
- Badger Care
- Disabled Adult Child Benefits (DAC)
