ERI Services:
Many people with disabilities have the ability and the desire to work, but fear of losing the benefits and services they need often prevents them from even considering employment. However, most of the programs people with disabilities depend on allow them to at least try to work without losing their benefits and services. ERI develops and demonstrates innovative and effective policies and practices to remove barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
We have the knowledge and experience to provide the analysis and planning people receiving public benefits need to reach their employment goals and maintain the benefits they depend on.
Benefits Counseling
- Benefits counseling provides people with disabilities a written and oral analysis of their services and benefits and of the effect of earnings from work on those services and benefits. Knowing the impact of work on their level of cash payment, medical coverage, continued eligibility, and other services helps people plan for employment. Find about more about Benefits Counseling...
Employment Counseling and Placement Services
- ERI, provides support to people with disabilities who want to become employed or maintain current employment. "What is your dream job?" and "What is preventing you from starting that job tomorrow?" Through in-depth discussion and analysis, the person identifies what he or she feels are barriers and assets to employment. More information at Employment Services.
- ERI is also a resource in connecting employers with hardworking and dependable individuals seeking employment. For more information, go to our Employment Services page.
Assistive Technology
- Assistive Technology consultation often results making an individual more employable. Assistive Technology services can help a person with a disability in the selection, purchase, and/or use of tools designed to make his or her life easier or more independent. ERI can provide Assistive Technology services in its multi-station computer lab, a person's home, or a person's workplace. Find more information about Assistive Technology Services...
Outreach
- ERI reaches out to service agencies and organizations that work with people with disabilities to provide them with essential information about entitlement programs and what the possibilities are for their clients. The goal is to ensure that no person gives up on the idea of working before they even get started. Find out more about hosting an outreach event in your area...
