Overview

The following resources for Navigators focus on Veterans including benefits and services to military veterans and their survivors, income support programs, employment, health and medical care, education and rehabilitation programs, home loans, and other resources.

State of Wisconsin Employment Resources

Includes Veteran job search resources, affirmative action information, state and federal benefit information and other helpful resources.

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs

The WDVA provides an array of benefits and services to eligible state veterans, and in some instances, veterans' family members. To deliver these benefits and services, the WDVA works closely with county veterans service officers (CVSOs). Each county has a veterans service officer who offers outreach, counseling and processing of benefit applications for both state and federal programs.

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs – Employment

Veterans transitioning from active duty should be aware that several state and federal benefits and services are tied to your discharge date. To find out more about the time frames and eligibility contact a County Veterans Service Officer.

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Veterans Services

Wisconsin operates 79 local Job Centers to assist you in finding employment and making career choices. All Job Centers have special staff to assist veterans.

Homeless Veterans Assistance

Veterans Assistance Program (VAP) helps homeless veterans and those at-risk of becoming homeless receive the job training, education, counseling and rehabilitative services (such as alcohol and drug abuse treatment) they need to obtain steady employment, affordable housing and the skills to sustain a productive lifestyle.

Women Veterans Resources & Information:

Benefits, health, employment, and connecting with other women vets.

Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce certifies businesses that are at least 51% owned by one or more disabled veterans, enhancing a firm's ability to sell to the government.

Wisconsin Family Assistance Centers

Your one-stop information and referral service, working with all branches of the military service in Wisconsin. Referrals to any of the following Family Assistance Centers can be made by calling: TOLL FREE: 1-800-292-9464 (press option 3)
